CHA Photos

It took us two days to realise that the photography ban at the CHA show wasn’t exactly being enforced by anyone.  By then we’d walked the floor and were concentrating on going back to specific booths to place orders, so I didn’t get many photos at all.

Doveen from Dove of the East is releasing a Vintage Paris line which she was so excited about.  She had the prototype papers on the stand and let me have the very first set of samples.  I really wanted to get them up here straight away, but while I was over there, I just couldn’t stay awake long enough, so here they all are.  I’d love to know what you think – they are probably more for scrapbookers and I don’t know how many of you do scrapbooking?

I think some of these next three could be useful for collage.

I also managed to get some more pictures of the Tattered Angels booth, which was just beautifully dressed with a brown, pink and cream theme.  We think we have a long drive to Birmingham NEC to set up our trade show, they had loaded up their trailer and driven 18 hours to get to the show!

The new Glimmer Chips feature a very clever 3-in-1 system where you get an alphabet, inside an oval or circle, inside another shape (butterfly, compass or ornate frame).  You can split them up and use all three parts separately or mix and match them together as in this layout:

This next picture shows a kit which includes the new chipboard alphas and glimmer glass.

One of the most popular new lines has to be the traveller collection – here’s a couple of pictures of the book, a beautiful circle book with a compass overlay.  There’s a glimmer screen to match and a new stamp.  The stamps are HUGE – almost 6 inches square.  (We do have an acrylic block that large in case you were wondering.)

This is the garden book that I think is just gorgeous, you can really see the embossed tree on the front in this photo.

These next two photos show the frosty memories book which we have in stock already.  These feature a snowflake shaped aperture on the front cover with glimmer glass behind it, but take a look at the second photo

Isn’t this clever – it’s Winter turned into Spring.  The snowflake glimmer glass has been heated, cut and curled to make flowers and the aperture has one of the new butterfly chips over it to make a filigree butterfly rather than a snowflake – inspired!

Finally, for those of you who do scrap, I loved the way the glimmer mists have been used so subtly in this layout, with a print from one of the new glimmer screens going right over the page and the photo.

So, that was Tattered Angels, now here’s one of my favourite new releases from Prima.  What do you think of these?

Lovely, aren’t they?  Question is, are they £4.99 lovely because if the exchange rate doesn’t change, that’s could be what these babies will end up costing. We really have had it good over the last few years with the weak dollar, I guess we will all have to make more careful choices on how we spend our crafting budget this year.

Oh, and while we’re talking of new releases, watch out on the Elusive Images Design Team blog this week for the new butterfly collage stamps and your chance to win a set!
