Simple Season’s Greetings

I’m starting with the simplest of the cards first.

Materials used:

  • Artylicious Season’s Greetings CD
  • Snowflake Flourish
  • Home made mica mists
  • Cardstock: light and dark teal, purple mirror card
  • StazOn: Iris, Teal

The greeting is printed from the Season’s greetings CD, trimmed and mounted onto light teal card.  The next layer has been misted with some sprays that I made up using mica powders, Claybord inks, re-inkers and water. I couldn’t tell you the exact mix as that kind of thing is all a bit experimental.

After it had dried I stamped a mini snowflake from Snowflake Flourish using Iris StazOn. Iris is one of those ‘why didn’t I realise what a gorgeous colour you are’ kind of inkpads. It’s a brighter violet than Imperial Purple which can sometimes be a bit dark. Anyway, it suited this piece perfectly – I love the way it disappears at the bottom as the background and the ink colour gets closer and closer together.

That layer was then stuck onto a piece of purple mirri card and the whole thing was stuck onto a darker teal card, stamped with a larger version of the same snowflake, stamped with Teal StazOn.  Quite simple, but as there’s no complex stamping or cutting, this one would be easy enough to do in quantity.

I’ll be staying with the snowflake theme tomorrow, but a very serene calm card.

In other news, the kittens had their first vaccinations today.  They were good as gold in the car on the way to the vets, only a tiny little mew or two as we arrived.  We’ve been slightly concerned about Zaphod’s snuffling – when he’s running around chasing squeaky mice or red laser dots he sometimes sounds a bit snuffly and wheezy.  The vet checked him over and his chest is fine so she said it is possible that they have both had a touch of cat flu and even though they are being vaccinated for it, they may remain susceptible to it all their lives.  It’s a virus, so not much point giving them antibiotics at this stage.

Trillian’s eyes have cleared up and from the gummy eyed, snotty little kitten she was when we first got her, she is looking much more like the little beauty queen she knows she is.

Oh yes, work it baby, work it.
