Stampbord Frames

These two little frames are both painted with something that I have only just discovered, even though it’s been around for a while – Inka Gold.  It’s more of a creme than a paint – like soft lipstick in a jar!  You can apply it with a brush, but I’ve found that my favourite tool to apply it is the ColorBox Stylus Tool which enables you to rub it on so easily.  I used a small brush to get into the corners as the stylus tool tip I have is round and doesn’t do corners well.

The pink you see here was made by mixing Lava Red and Silver together on my craft mat.  The green is Lava Green.

This first one uses a flower stamp from the Elegant Egyptian stamp set.  I stamped with StazOn and coloured it with Copics.  Yes, really – and the ink didn’t bleed! I can only assume it’s because I stamped it months ago and it’s been sitting in my box of stamped Stampbord bits for ages, so the ink has really soaked in and dried thoroughly.  After colouring, I rubbed it with coarse sandpaper to distress the edges.

The frame was painted with my home made pink Inka Gold then I sponged Lava Red around the edges.  It was stamped with StazOn using a quotation from the Artistic Affirmations stamp set and a little black StazOn rubbed around the edges.

This second piece uses stamps from Key to my Dreams - both on the Stampbord and the frame.   The inside of the frame is painted with Lava Green and the outside with my pink again.  I used a Zig glue pen to attach the German Scrap border and PVA glue to attach everything else.  The Stampbord was coloured with Tattered Rose Distress ink and stamped with black StazOn.  The white is where I have used the scratch knife to etch into the surface.

The little collage frames are so sweet to work with and small enough to be able to achieve a finished result quickly – good for attention deficit crafters like me!  I have an idea for doing another with Crafty Individuals stamps, but not sure where those stamps ended up in the new craft room.  I’m off hunting …
